Flip the Script Camp
July 24 – 28
A live action movie-making camp with Media Power Youth at the SEE Science Center.
Flip The Script Camp with Media Power Youth is supercharged! Campers will create and film their very own superhero origin story based on a science exhibit. Young film makers will explore misinformation, scientific discovery, and positive storytelling.
In this camp, participants will discover their inner superpowers by working together to design, create, edit and star in videos. Campers will be challenged to tell a creative but untrue story around science, based on exhibits at the SEE Science Center. They will then flip the script and share the true science behind the exhibit.
Through this hands-on program, campers will investigate video creation techniques that make things believable, truthful and fun to watch. They will explore the ways we talk and learn about science in everyday life. Campers will create lasting memories from being part of a production crew and will celebrate their success at the end of camp with a film premiere.
This camp was created by and will be run by Media Power Youth, a NH based non-profit organization. Media Power Youth’s mission is to inspire young people to engage with media in thoughtful and creative ways that support well-being.
