Flip the Script Camp

July 25-29

A live action movie-making camp with Media Power Youth at the SEE Science Center.

If you want to know how something works, how do you find out? More often than not, you’ll find your answer from a video, whether it’s a 30-minute YouTube tutorial or a 30-second TikTok clip. But how are these videos made, and how do you know if you can trust them?

In this camp, participants will work together to design, create, edit and star in videos. They will learn how facts can easily become fiction, and fiction can become facts. Campers will be challenged to tell a creative but untrue story around science, based on exhibits at the SEE Science Center. They will then flip the script and share the true science behind the exhibit.

Through this hands-on program, campers will investigate video creation techniques that make things believable and fun to watch. They will explore the ways we talk and learn about science in everyday life. Campers will create lasting memories from being part of a production crew and will celebrate their success at the end of camp with a film premiere.

This camp was created by and will be run by Media Power Youth, a NH based non-profit organization.  Media Power Youth’s mission is to inspire young people to engage with media in thoughtful and creative ways that support well-being.
