Join Camp BioTrek to learn about latest technologies of a new industry called “biofabrication”. Discover how your unique talents are needed to help this industry grow!
Want to be a doctor? Scientist? Teacher? Engineer? Entrepreneur? How about a biofabrication technician? Not sure? No Problem! In this summer challenge, teachers of the Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI) will guide campers to learn about regenerative medicine, biofabrication and the exciting jobs needed to support this new industry.
Through this project-based learning program, campers will
explore real-world medical challenges and use their imagination to design better medical products. Campers will work in teams to conduct research, complete experiments, and design a tissue engineered medical product, known in the biofabrication industry as a TEMP! Campers will take a walk to the Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute to visit the Tissue Foundry.
For their final event, team members will assume various roles in their imagined business and work together to create a fun product presentation for a Shark Tank style competition. The sharks will award a prize to the best business!
This camp was created by and will be run by The Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI). ARMI is a member-based, nonprofit organization based in Manchester, NH whose mission is to advance the bioeconomy of the United States. The institute’s work will positively impact not only manufacturing but also healthcare and education & workforce development for the nation.
- This camp is for kids ages 11 to 14.
- This is a one week camp.
- Camp is from 9:00am – 3:30pm.
- Camp is $300.
- SEE members save $15.
- $50 off full price, second camp choice or sibling (cannot be combined with other discounts).
- EBT/SNAP cardholders can sign up for one week of camp for $100 in person at SEE with card.
- Payment is due at registration, $50 of each registration is non-refundable.
