SEE is proud to announce its hosting of the local Rube Goldberg Machine Contest, a renowned STEM event that challenges students to innovate, collaborate, and bring engineering concepts to life. This engaging competition serves as a stepping stone to the prestigious Rube Goldberg Machine Contest World Championship, offering participants an unforgettable educational journey, while serving as the lowest cost STEM contest in the nation!
Team Participation: Building a Rube Goldberg machine teaches students to think outside the box and turn complex challenges into opportunities for learning and fun. These projects encourage innovation, persistence, and the ability to see failure as a stepping stone to success. Teachers and mentors also benefit by fostering enthusiasm for STEM subjects and cultivating the next generation of problem-solvers and creative thinkers.
Spectator Information: This event is open to the general public with paid admission to the SEE Science Center.
About Rube Goldberg, Inc. – The Rube Goldberg Machine Contest (RGMC) is named after Rube Goldberg, a Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist, engineer, and inventor, known for his humorous illustrations of overly complex machines. The competition continues his legacy by inspiring students worldwide to combine artistry with engineering ingenuity.
