Meet Our New Executive Director

The SEE Science Center is pleased to introduce Shana Hawrylchak to the position of a Executive Director. Ms. Hawrylchak began the role June 1, 2020 and has been working hard to prepare the Museum for reopening, instituting new safety procedures and policies in light of the pandemic.

Ms. Hawrylchak is has over 20 years of experience in the museum field. She has a background in hands-on science education and has held positions at the Museum of Science, Boston and the EcoTarium Museum in Worcester, MA prior to coming to SEE.  She has managed numerous museum projects and programs around the globe and in the Northeast, including the international tour management of Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination in Australia.  Throughout her career Ms. Hawrylchak has worked on over 80 exhibitions and has worked on projects at over 20 institutions.  She has also held management positions at the Mercer Museum in Doylestown, PA and the Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, MA and is passionate about accessibility and inclusion in the Sciences and providing opportunities to both children and adults with alternative learning styles.

As Executive Director, Ms. Hawrylchak’s immediate responsibilities will be the development of fundraising initiatives, community outreach, partnerships, and educational programming.  She is also working closely with the Board of Directors to shepherd the Museum into its next phase, identifying new ways for the organization to offer programming and reach the community during the pandemic.
